The Ed Schluntz Contribution to Amateur Football Award
In honor of Ed Schluntz, a charter member of the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation, the Chapter presents annually an award to a person in the Chapter footprint whose efforts and activities in support of the Foundation and its goals have been local in nature. This award winner may be a coach, trainer, league organizer, administrator, fundraiser, or commonly all of the above. The recipient is selected by the Chapter Executive Board.
The High School Scholar-Athlete Awards
The High School Scholar-Athlete awards are given to those graduating seniors in the Chapter footprint who have achieved excellence on the gridiron, in the classroom, and in the community. A total of 33 awards are scheduled to be presented each year. The 2017 Scholar-Athlete Nomination form
The Jack Daly Award for Academics, Citizenship and Football In honor of Jack Daly, a charter member of the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation, the Chapter will present annually an award to a college football player at an institution in the Chapter footprint based on academic performance, community service, and demonstrated football ability. Each of the three components of the award will be weighted equally in the selection of the winner. Collegiate student-athletes completing their junior or senior years are eligible for this award.
The Ron Burton Distinguished American Award
In honor of Ron Burton, the first draft pick the Boston Patriots and a noted philanthropist, the Chapter presents the Award annually to a recipient, not limited to a former college player or coach, who is an outstanding person who has maintained a lifetime of interest in the game and who, over a long period of time, has exhibited enviable leadership qualities and made a significant contribution to the betterment of amateur football in the Chapter footprint. The recipient is selected by the Chapter Executive Board.
