40th Annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet Scheduled for May 3

The Boston-Newton Marriott Will be the Site


The 40th Annual Scholar-Athlete Banquet of the Jack Grinold Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Football Foundation will be held Sunday evening, May 3, 2015, at the Boston-Newton Marriott (DIRECTIONS) at the intersection of Route 128 and the Massachusetts Turnpike in Newton.


33 high school football players from the footprint of the Chapter who have excelled on and off the gridiron will be feted at the event which begins with a 6:00pm reception followed by the banquet at 7:00.


Three additional awards will be presented. The Ed Schluntz Contribution to Amateur Football Award and the Ron Burton Distinguished American Award will be presented to two individuals to be named in December.


The third award presented is the Jack Daly Award for Academics, Citizenship and Football that will be presented to junior, senior or graduate student in the chapter footprint who excels at all three phases of the award title..



Jon Meterparel, the play-by-play voice of the Boston College Eagles will again serve as the Master of Ceremonies. Meterparel will be emcee the event for the third time. In addition to his Boston College duties, Meterparel also hosts Life is Great New England on Comcast Sports Net and WBIN. Ticket Information:

All tickets must be purchased in advance. No tickets will be available for purchase at the door the night of the event. 

Tickets must be purchased no later than FRIDAY, APRIL 24, 2014, at 6:00pm.

Tickets may be purchased with check, money order or credit card. People and institutions will be responsible for all reservations made, and there will be no refunds. Tickets are $65.00 per person. Award winners are provided complimentary meals.
